PuttVision — last updated 2 September 2026

PuttVision sells no data, and what its camera sees never leaves your phone. The game itself runs on the device. An account is optional: without one, nothing personal is stored anywhere. With one, a display name, a badge and your game progress are. The app shows advertising, which a subscription removes; each of these points is set out below.

The account, and what it is for

You can play without ever creating an account, and none of your data leaves your phone. Advertising is the exception, and only that: it needs a connection, and it is described further down.

The first time you open the app, a guest account is created for you. It carries no name, no address and no password — only an identifier held by Google's Firebase servers, so that your rounds can be attached to something. You can link it later to an email address, to Google or to Apple, which is what lets your rounds follow you to a new phone and your name appear in rankings.

What is stored, and nothing else:

Your display name and badge are readable by other signed-in players — that is the point of a ranking. Your email address and your game progress are not: the first stays in the authentication service, the second is readable only by you.

Authentication and storage are handled by Firebase, a Google service. Data is processed on its servers. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

Deleting your account

The Account screen carries a Delete account button. It erases your account, your profile and your progress immediately and for good, from within the app, with no request to make to us.

The PuttVision VIP subscription

The subscription is optional: the app plays in full without it, and what it unlocks can also be obtained with the coins you earn by playing.

We never see your payment details. Payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play, which tell us nothing about it — no card number, no billing address, no identity.

What we keep is limited to what proves your subscription is active:

Managing and cancelling happen in your phone's settings, at Apple or Google. We have no way to reach them.

The daily wheel

One spin is offered each day. It can award a month of subscription; in that case only, the app records a request that our servers process to extend your end date. Nothing else leaves the device.

The second screen

PuttVision can display your game on a computer or a television. The screen shows a six-character code, you enter it in the app, and the two are paired for the duration of the game.

While paired, the phone publishes to that session what the screen needs in order to show your game: your nickname and avatar, your coin balance, the ball and title you wear, whether you subscribe, how many items you have unlocked, the shop catalogue, the game state and each measured putt — a distance and an angle, never an image.

Anyone who knows the code can read that. Six characters protect against a mistyping, not against a determined search, and the screen has no account of its own to identify it. So only what you already show other players travels there: a nickname, a balance, what you wear. Never an email address, never an account identifier, never anything that designates a real person — and the security rules refuse any other field.

A session lasts two hours at most and is deleted automatically. Unpairing removes it at once.

The camera

PuttVision uses your phone's rear camera to measure the speed and the direction of your putt.

This deserves to be spelled out, because it is the only sensitive thing involved:

Camera access is requested the first time you open the measurement screen. You can refuse it, or revoke it at any time in your phone's settings; the app remains usable, but measuring a real putt will no longer work.

PuttVision does not use the microphone and records no sound.

What is kept on your phone

Your capture settings — phone height, distance to the ball, brightness, playing hand — the fact that you have seen the introduction, your choice about personalised advertising, how many reward videos you have watched today, and a copy of your progress: coins, items obtained, achievement counters and the day's wheel spin.

That copy is what lets you play offline. Without an account it never leaves the device, and disappears if you uninstall the app.

Advertising

PuttVision shows advertising supplied by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). Banners appear on the home screen, in the menus and on the result screen — never while a putt is being measured. Videos that earn coins are only ever played when you choose to watch one.

Subscribers see no advertising. An active PuttVision VIP subscription removes banners entirely; reward videos remain available, because they are asked for rather than imposed.

Advertising is contextual by default: Unity Ads receives no identifier allowing ads to be tailored to you, and the ads you see depend neither on your profile nor on your other apps.

You can turn on personalised advertising in Settings. Doing so shares your device's advertising identifier with Unity Ads, which is what Apple calls tracking — so iOS asks for your permission as well, and both are needed. You can withdraw either at any time, in Settings or in your phone's privacy settings; the game is identical without it. Unity Ads acts as an independent data controller for what it collects; its policy is at unity.com.

What is not transmitted

The app contains no analytics and no crash reporting. Apart from the advertising and the second screen described above, it sends nothing beyond what is described in this policy, and only when an account is in use. No data is sold, and your account, your scores and your putt measurements are never passed to the advertising provider.

Children

PuttVision is not directed at children in particular. It does not ask for a date of birth and declares its users as being above the age limit applied by the advertising provider. Creating an account requires an email address or a Google or Apple account; without an account, nothing personal is stored, whatever the age of the user.

Your rights

You can view and correct your display name and badge at any time from the Account screen, and erase all of it with the Delete account button. For any other request — access, portability, objection — write to the address below.

Without a linked account there is nothing else: uninstalling the app erases everything it had stored on the device.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published at this address, with an updated date. Should a future version of the app ever collect data, it would be announced here before going into service.
